Rachel received distinction for her Master’s dissertation at Sotheby’s Institute of Art London on art buying behavior and social media. She has held positions at Phillips, Christie’s, and The Frick Collection in addition to working in marketing. She is an art market analyst, writer, designer, and consultant.

Among her former artistic pursuits, Rachel designed posters and promotions for The Flaming Lips, Grizzly Bear, Beach House, Deerhunter, and others. She also collaborates on web-based projects & consults on marketing for art professionals.

Art market analysis

Rachel works closely with London-based ArtTactic on art market analysis & artist reports. She has published her own research and analysis of David Ostrowski’s market [July 2014] and regularly contributes to major auction and industry reports such as the Indian Art Market Report [Feb 2015].

 

A semester abroad in St. Petersburg developed Rachel’s interest in Russian art and culture, eventually leading her to write her undergraduate thesis on early Soviet mass media. In college Rachel gained insight into the “art world” with internships at The Frick Collection and Christie’s. A former artist, she also consulted on marketing campaigns and taught high school students before deciding to devote herself to a career in art. She wrote her Masters’ dissertation on the offline impact of social media on art buying attitudes.
